Our Reception staff have a difficult job dealing with telephone calls and enquiries coming from every direction. When you telephone for medical attention the receptionist may need to ask for a few details in order to judge the urgency of your request. They have been asked to do this and the information you give will always be treated in confidence as they are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.
Our reception staff are our front-line people and the clinicians could not do their jobs without the receptionists and administrative team. We value them highly and expect you to respect them and their role within the practice. As such, any unacceptable behaviour on the part of patients towards our staff will meet with sanctions and zero tolerance, and patients abusing the staff, whether verbally or otherwise, risk being removed from our list.
