Feeling unwell? Not getting better with self-care? If you need some help please contact us. We have your medical records and can give you the right treatment for minor ailments, rather than you going to A&E, Urgent Care Centres or Walk-In Centres. Please avoid A&E unless your GP advises, and do not ring 111 from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6.30pm, when the surgery is open.
Chelsfield Surgery has been chosen as a Cardiology Hub within the Orpington area. We are able to accept 24hr ECG and BP monitoring for any patient over 7yrs of age from within the practice and other practices. Referral is via a clinician and a form must be completed.
Convenience doesn’t stop there and you can now access a number of services online. Online appointment bookings with our GPs and our Advanced Nurse Practitioner, ordering repeat prescriptions, or sending us your comments are all just a click away. Access can now also be given to summary information in patients' records, such as medication, allergies and immunisatiaons. Please let us know if you would like access to these online services.
Online appointments with Mandy Murrell, our Advanced Nurse Practitioner, please DO NOT include routine nurse procedures such as travel immunisations, dressings, smears etc... Please book these on the telephone in the usual way.
EXTENDED HRS FOR ALL LONDON BOROUGH OF BROMLEY PRACTICES WILL BE OUTSOURCED TO BROMLEY ALLIANCE, and face to face appointments, telephone consultations and e-consultations will be supplied on behalf of the practice from the Ballater Surgery (Orpington) until Sat 23/11 and then the new Orpington Health & Well Being Centre (The Walnuts) as from Mon 25/11
Our patients can now book an appointment to see a GP on other weekday evenings (after 6.30pm) or at the weekends (on Saturdays or Sundays) by making an appointment at one of our GP Alliance HUBs. These HUB appointments will either take place in Orpington, Bromley or Beckenham. Please talk to the practice receptionists to find out more on how to book a GP Alliance appointment.
We are unable to give out any medical information regarding our patients over the age of 16 yrs without their written or verbal permission. Once permission has been received we will update the patient's medical record to reflect their choice.
Adult Vaccination Programme
You may be eligible for the Shingles vaccine. Use this link to help you find out. If so, please make an appointment with one of our nurses.
If you require PNEUMONIA and SHINGLES vaccines, it is worth noting that they cannot be given at the same time. Appointments will need to be made 4 weeks apart.
Health and Happiness
Our team are dedicated to your continued good health and approach your care with professionalism, discretion and friendliness. You can count on a warm welcome from everyone involved here at the practice.
Did you know that you can self-refer to your local NHS physiotherapy service?
We are trialling a new way for you to see a physiotherapist. If you are 16 years or older, you can now self-refer to physiotherapy for: muscle or joint pain; back or neck pain; sports injuries and sprains and strains. It's exactly the same NHS service, but without the need for a GP appointment first. You can still see your GP to be referred, but self-referral aims to get you seen by a physiotherapist more quickly and should save your GP time.
Call 01689 88 77 10 to self-refer, or ask at Reception.
Care Quality Commission
Following our ANNUAL CQC provider information collection (PIC) call on
29 November 2019 During an annual regulatory review
We reviewed the information available to us about Chelsfield Surgery on 20 December 2019. We did not find evidence of significant changes to the quality of service being provided since the last inspection. As a result, we decided not to inspect the surgery at this time. We will continue to monitor this information about this service throughout the year and may inspect the surgery when we see evidence of potential changes.
The average pay for GPs working in the Practice of Chelsfield Surgery in the last financial year 2017/2018 was £88,708 before Tax and National Insurance. This is for 2 full time GPs and 2 part time GPs who worked in the practice for more than 6 months.
The Accessible Information Standard aims to ensure that people who have a disability, impairment or sensory loss are provided with information that they can easily read or understand with support so they can communicate effectively with services. Examples of the types of support that might be required include large print, braille or using a British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter.
All organisations that provide NHS care or adult social care are required to follow the new standard, including NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts, and GP practices. As part of the accessible information standard, these organisations must do five things:
- Ask people if they have any information or communication needs, and find out how to meet their needs.
- Record those needs clearly and in a set way.
- Highlight or ‘flag’ the person’s file or notes so it is clear that they have information or communication needs and how those needs should be met.
- Share information about people’s information and communication needs with other providers of NHS and adult social care, when they have consent or permission to do so.
- Take steps to ensure that people receive information which they can access and understand, and receive communication support if they need it.
If you have any of the needs described above, please alert a member of our reception team who assist you to get the best possible information and care from your GP surgery. For more information please follow this link.
We are unable to give any information regarding a patient to a third party without prior verbal or written consent from the patient concerned in respect of the patient requesting that information. This consent will then be entered onto the patient's medical record for future reference. We take patient confidentiality in this practice very seriously, and will not impart any patient information without the patient's verbal or written consent.
